Internships In Management and Finance

Quintesse Consultants Private Limited is a consulting organization engaged in different aspects of design, development, implementation and management of education, healthcare and community development projects.

Objectives
Quintesse offers internship facility to undergraduate and postgraduate students as part of the organization’s quality interface with academic and professional institutions.  These internships are designed to provide familiarity and hands-on experience in real work situations enabling the students to test as well as evaluate their prospective career choices. The internship also offers opportunities to recognise and remedy possible gaps in academic programs and enrich the student’s learning experience.

Nature and duration

a.	Internships may include summer internships, end of semester assignments and post-qualification practicum. The applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited education program and should possess the required academic credentials.
b.	The duration may range from one month to one year depending upon the student’s practicum requirement and the availability of internship slots. During the period of internship, the students are either assigned to a Senior Consultant or to a particular consulting project.  Internships may involve outstation travel and on-site visits.

Attendance and record-keeping

a.	All internships are fulltime and will cover a minimum of 45 hours a week. Interns will be required to log in their daily attendance in an attendance sheet.
b.	They will have to maintain a Daily Journal in which they will enter the tasks/jobs assigned, observations made regarding functions within the organization while carrying out each task/job and details of targets achieved.  A weekend report of activities must be submitted to the supervising consultant.

Stipend
Most of the internship positions carry a monthly stipend. The monthly stipends are as follows: Undergraduate
interns – Rs 4,000; Postgraduate interns – Rs 6,000. The interns will not be entitled to any other benefits or allowances other than reimbursement of out of pocket expenses incurred exclusively on outstation engagements or on-site visits.

Discipline
Students undergoing internship will be treated at par with regular employees of the organization in all matters relating to attendance, conduct and discipline.

Certification
At the end of the internship, the student will be required to submit an internship report. The final evaluation will be based on Daily Journal, Attendance Record and Internship Report. On successful conclusion of the internship, the student will be granted a Certificate of Internship.
